Sara Ahmed’s Feminist Killjoy blog. Sara Ahmed’s writings have been my guiding force for many years. Her Feminist Killjoy Handbook is thought provoking, funny, and inspiring.
Erica Fonseca (2023) On the domestication of queer within social work. I love this article so much I wish I wrote it :) ‘Corralled by the liberal discipline of social work, domesticated queerness is tamed, no longer running wild, no longer feral’ (p. 1). Enjoy, think, act.
Come See Me in the Good Light (2025). https://www.apple.com/au/tv-pr/originals/come-see-me-in-the-good-light/ ‘Come See Me in the Good Light is a poignant and unexpectedly funny love story about poets Andrea Gibson and Megan Falley facing an incurable cancer diagnosis with joy, wit and an unshakable partnership. Through laughter and unwavering love, they transform pain into purpose, and mortality into a moving celebration of resilience’ (from movie blurb). I expected this movie to be about grief, but it was joy, hope, love, humour, life, as well as grief. According to Meg Falley, Andrea in their final days said ‘I fucking loved my life’. This movie demonstrates that. Just… just see it.
